Naudero: Thousands of mourners have converged on the ancestral home of assassinated opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, as members of her Pakistan People's Party meet to decide on a new leader.

The crowds gathered in the town of Naudero and chanted "Musharraf is a killer" as her husband vowed to keep her memory alive.

Asif Ali Zardari told the crowd: "Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the sake of this country and for democracy. But her blood will not bein vain ... Bhutto will remain alive in the hearts of people."

Bhutto was killed on Thursday after giving a speech at a rally in the city of Rawalpindi.

The meeting will decide whether the PPP boycott the elections scheduled for January and who should replace her as head of the party.
