Court seeks records on Dr A.Q. Khan

Islamabad: The federal high court has sought records related to detention of nuclear hero Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan on a habeas corpus petition.

Chief justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam ordered the government's deputy attorney general yesterday to furnish the record today.

The petitioner told the court the scientist had been under detention for several years now and that he was not given any opportunity to defend himself and was not allowed to meet even his relatives.

He said at a previous hearing the court had directed the interior ministry secretary to submit a report about Dr Khan in a week but this was not done.
