Islamabad: Pakistan can allow Afghanistan to import wheat flour from India through its territory across the Wagah border, the foreign ministry said on Thursday.
The transit permission will be only for wheat flour, a ministry spokesman told reporters, following reports that Afghanistan, which depends for the commodity on Pakistan, had sought such facility. Pakistan, which is currently beset by shortage of the staple commodity, has tightened controls on wheat movement on borders with India and Afghanistan.
