New York: A bridge in New York was closed for several hours on Wednesday night after a truck was left abandoned on it.
The busy Triborough Bridge, which connects the boroughs of Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx, was blocked off while bomb squad experts examined the rental truck which had Arizona license plates. The vehicle had apparently smelled of gas.
The bridge was due to re-open early on Thursday morning after the truck was x-rayed and found to be empty.
The closure comes days after a failed bomb attack on New York's Times Square that has heightened security concerns in the Big Apple.
