Madrid: A Spanish official says three Moroccans who survived a migrant boat capsizing that left at least 8 dead have been accused of organising the journey from North Africa and charged with negligent homicide.
Oscar Lobato of the Interior Ministry office in southern Cadiz province says some of the 15 people who survived Monday's tragedy said the suspects pushed people to get them to jump into the water just off shore and this caused the boat to capsize near a patch of rocks.
The three have also been charged with human trafficking.
Lobato told the reporters Wednesday that authorities believe there were as many as 30 people aboard and continue to look for survivors and bodies.
