Harare: In the first violence in the country's election, the house of a Zimbabwean parliamentary candidate was bombed on Saturday, police said.
Chief police spokesman Wayne Bvudzijena said that a bomb had exploded in a house belonging to a candidate from the ruling pary ZANU-PF.
"Early this morning a house in Emakhandeni...constituency was bombed. We have since retrieved explosive devices,'' he said.
No one was injured in the explosion that took place in Zimbabwe's second largest city of Bulawayo.
