Inspectors to drive AI-powered cars to monitor occupancy rates
Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi’s public parking management system is getting an AI boost.
Q Mobility, the public parking operator in Abu Dhabi, has launched the pilot phase of an artificial intelligence-powered initiative.
As the pilot phase rolls out, inspectors will use AI-powered smart vehicles to monitor occupancy rates. Automated parking payment systems are being introduced through smart cameras equipped with AI. The cameras can also detect whether Mawaqif parking fees have been paid – a service that will ease the burden on inspectors who currently check this manually.
In addition, real-time data and updates will be made accessible to users through dedicated smart channels.
The integration of AI into public parking management brings multiple benefits, including an improved user experience, more efficient monitoring and compliance, greater transparency, reduced operational costs, and support for environmental and sustainability goals.
The initiative is in line with Abu Dhabi’s development strategies focused on accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies in service delivery, contributing to the creation of smart and sustainable cities.
