Dubai Women's College hosted the Accounting Day for over 40 graduates who discussed the importance of accounting as a career in Dubai with the Higher Diploma Business students.

The year-one students met role models in the accounting field and established important business networks.

Salem Bin Dasmal, manager at Ernst and Young, opened the event and highlighted the need for qualified national accountants and the wide variety of career options open to them.

The information presented was used by the year-one students to prepare a report outlining the role of accounting in local organisations and in the economy.

The college has been offering a three-year Higher Diploma in Accounting for the past 10 years and has over 120 graduates in the subject.

The graduates are currently employed in essential roles in business sectors, including banking, manufacturing, retail, government auditing and accounting, Etisalat, the Ruler's Court, HSBC, United National Bank, ENOC and Emirates airline.
