Dubai: Following moderate to heavy rainfall and hail across Dubai and Al Ain on Friday, the UAE is set for more unstable weather this weekend, with continued rain expected today and tomorrow.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts rainy conditions to persist in various parts of the country until Monday, July 21. Today, Saturday, is anticipated to see the peak of this weather, with increased convective clouds bringing rain to scattered areas including Dubai, Sharjah, and the northern and eastern regions like Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

This unusual summer weather is attributed to an extension of a low-pressure system, coupled with a weak upper-air low pressure influencing the region.

Humidity levels are projected to reach a maximum of 90 per cent. Average temperatures will hover in the mid-30s Celsius, though maximum temperatures could soar to 49°C. Winds are expected to be noticeable, blowing at speeds of 15-25 km/h and occasionally gusting up to 40 km/h.

Looking ahead, the NCM predicts humid conditions over coastal and internal areas on Sunday as per the weekend weather forecast. The day will be partly cloudy with a chance of convective cloud formation in the east and south, potentially bringing more rainfall. Humid nights and Monday mornings are also expected over some western coastal and internal areas, with a possibility of mist forming. Further rainfall is anticipated in parts of Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Monday, under similar weather conditions.

Residents should be prepared for blowing dust and sand, especially during the day, as stronger winds accompanying the cloud activity may reduce horizontal visibility. Motorists are advised to exercise caution on the roads due to potentially hindered visibility. Those with allergies should also take necessary precautions when venturing outdoors.

The sea in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea is expected to be calm.
