Dubai: UAE residents, particularly those with dust allergies, are being advised to stay indoors as a powerful dust storm affects key areas, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Fujairah, this afternoon. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued a dust alert, warning that fresh Northwesterly winds are causing significant reductions in visibility—down to less than 3000 meters in certain internal and coastal regions. The conditions are expected to persist until 9pm this evening, March 25, 2025.

Motorists are strongly advised to drive with extreme caution in areas impacted by the storm, as visibility continues to drop, creating dangerous driving conditions. The dust is not only affecting roads but also posing health risks, particularly for those with respiratory issues. The NCM urges residents, especially allergy sufferers, to stay indoors and limit exposure to airborne dust particles.

As the storm continues, the weather is expected to improve, with tomorrow’s forecast predicting clear to partly cloudy skies and a rise in humidity levels overnight. Fog and mist may form in some areas early Thursday morning, adding to the already challenging weather conditions. Light to moderate winds will continue, with occasional fresh gusts reaching 40 km/h over the sea. The Arabian Gulf will remain rough to moderate, while the Oman Sea will be moderate to slight.

Stay up-to-date with the NCM’s latest weather forecasts to stay informed about temperature fluctuations and conditions in your area, helping you plan your day safely.
