Police will adjust radar accordingly; move aims to reduce risk of accidents
Ras Al Khaimah: The speed limit on Ras Al Khaimah’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Street, from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Roundabout (Al Rafaa) to Al Marjan Island Roundabout, will be reduced from 100km/h to 80 km/h from January 17.
Accordingly, Ras Al Khaimah Police will adjust the radar speed on the street to 101km/h instead of 121km/h.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Sam Al Naqbi, Director-General of Central Operations at the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the move comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy aimed at road safety.
He added that the decision also aims to reduce the likelihood of accidents that may result from speeding on the road.
The road is considered a vital route as it passes through residential, tourist, and commercial areas, starting from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Roundabout, passing through Al Rifaa, Al Jazira Al Hamra, and Mina Al Arab, before reaching Al Marjan.
