Abu Dhabi: A five-week-long Truck Enforcement Committee Programme, to gather data from more than 500 trucks in Abu Dhabi, was launched today (Tuesday) by the capital’s Department of Transport in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police
The programme aims to collects information to construct a detailed database.
This initiative is designed to increase safety levels and find necessary traffic solutions in Abu Dhabi, in addition to reducing reckless driving habits and serious accidents caused by trucks. Specialist technicians will examine the vehicles’ brakes, oil leakage, tyres, lighting of the trucks and the weight of the trucks, in addition to conducting questionnaires in various languages aimed at drivers of articulated trucks.
