Dubai: Dubai Police on Saturday reported traffic congestion at all entrances at Dubai Mall.
“Traffic congestion has been reported at all entrances to #DubaiMall,” the police said on its twitter handle.
The police also said the mall entrances are overcrowded.
Dubai Mall, one of the most visited locations on earth, gets especially crowded during the Eid holidays as residents and tourists visit to enjoy the countless options there for dining, shopping and entertainment.
Every year, authorities make arrangements for Eid such as overflow parking areas while urging visitors to use public transport, especially Dubai Metro.
This Eid Al Adha, extra parking was provided in Dubai Design District, Al Wasl Football Club and the General Department of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, with free shuttle buses running between them and Dubai Mall, the world’s biggest shopping centre with over 1,200 shops and 200 food outlets.
In 2014, more than 80 million people visited Dubai Mall, which is undergoing a massive expansion.
