Holidays: Police tell residents to follow rules for safe trips

Dubai: Dubai Police will intensify efforts to ensure that Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated safely, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, said. Police called on the residents to enjoy Eid safely by following safety and security rules.

Lt Gen Dahi urged beachgoers not to swim in deep waters and to watch for sudden changes in current. He said those going to trips to the desert or sailing must find out the weather conditions before leaving on their trips. They should also inform Dubai Police Operations of their intended destination, to enable the police to react quickly in case of an emergency.

He also asked residents who plan outings to register their names and addresses at the police's home safety service.
