Ras Al Khaimah: A 28-year-old Emirati youth died yesterday after his car overturned several times on Al Sa'adi road in Ras Al Khaimah on Monday, because of speeding, Captain Salem Mohammad Buraqiba, Acting Director of the Traffic Branch at Al Digdaga Police Station, said.

The motorist was driving at high speed on Al Saadi Road on Monday afternoon when he lost control while negotiating a sudden curve, causing the vehicle to overturn many times. The car was badly damaged, Buraqiba said

Injured seriously

Police patrols and ambulance rushed to the scene of the accident after being alerted, Buraqiba said

The driver, identified as A.A., was injured seriously and rushed to Saqr hospital where he was pronounced dead yesterday morning, Buraqiba said.

The case was transferred to public prosecution and the body was handed over to the family for burial, Buraqiba said

"We again appeal for motorists to adhere to speed limits and ensure their seat belts are fastened for their safety and for the safety of other road users," Buraqiba said.
