Driver, passenger killed in crash at Al Khail Road in Dubai

Dubai: A driver died along with a passenger  in their pickup which crashed into another truck parked on the side of Al Khail Road on Saturday evening.

The accident happened on Al Khail Road in the direction towards Jebel Ali.

The driver succumbed to his injuries immediately at the crash site and the passenger died shortly after he was rushed to hospital following the accident which happened at 5pm, according to Salah Bu Farousha, Head of Dubai Traffic Public Prosecution.

"The driver lost control over his pickup and crashed into the rear of the truck that was parked on the shoulder of the road following a breakdown. We will hand over the bodies of the victims to their families. Meanwhile, we have asked the traffic committee to prepare a technical report for further investigation," said Bu Farousha.
