Everyone of us, in one way or another, is responsible for saving energy and it is up to us to ensure that we do not unnecessarily waste power.
Studies reveal that in the near future, we could face a serious energy shortage. The scarcity could affect development in many aspects, and the situation is worsened by our increasing demands.
Saving electricity is an initiative that can begin from our homes. At homes and in offices, lights can be switched off when not in use.
People may forget to turn off the lights and other energy-consuming equipment, but placing a sticker next to the electric switch on the wall that states "Turn off the lights when not in use" would be a good beginning.
It would certainly make a difference. Every single person can contribute toward saving energy.
The same concept can be introduced at schools as well, where undoubtedly the consumption of energy would be much more, especially during the summer months.
It can be introduced in offices, too. Installing guidelines for saving power in offices andindustries would have positive results.
At home, all electrical equipment should be turned off when not in use. For instance, mobile phones are commonly used today and restricting the time for recharging a mobile phone unit would help save a considerable amount of energy.
Cultivate the practice of conserving electricity and encourage friends and colleagues to be proactive. Let us not forget to turn off lights when not in use and save energy for the future!
