Three company premises destroyed in Sharjah fire

Sharjah: A large fire gutted three company premises and also spread to a residential building in Industrial Area 6 on Thursday.

Colonel Waheed Al Serkal, Director of Sharjah Civil Defence, said the fire broke out at 3pm and took more than two hours to extinguish.

Fire fighters from Dubai and Ajman Civil Defence also coordinated to put off the fire that destroyed seven cars.

No fatalities or injuries were reported but the material losses could be in millions of dirhams, according to Al Serkal.

He said that the fire started in Germany Home Company that specialises in tiles but quickly spread to Al Rahal Auto maintenance workshop and Delta Steel Works.

The fire then spread to a nearby two-storey residential building. Up to 30 families were affected and some apartments were completely gutted.
