The Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Co (Takreer) has completed the integrated plant performance test for the General Utilities Plant (GUP) at Ruwais.
The Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Co (Takreer) has completed the integrated plant performance test for the General Utilities Plant (GUP) at Ruwais.
"Takreer has completed the integrated plant performance test for the overall plant in addition to individual performance tests for three gas turbine generators GTG 24, 26 and 27 on a summer peak load of 391 MW in the second week of September, 2002," according to the latest Takreer News, the official company newsletter.
Tests were also conducted for summer average load of 329 MW and winter average load of 246 MW.
The installed facilities, including interconnection of the GUP grid to 220 kV Adwea grid, ensures stability of power supply to all Takreer's consumers including Borouge, Fertil, Gasco and Adco Jebel Dhana and other industrial and non-industrial consumers and customers, besides its own consumption.
The GUP grid forms part of the Ruwais GUP which was originally built in 1982 and has undergone two successive expansions.
The current expansion facilities have been installed to provide steam, potable water and various utilities to the Ruwais industrial complex and other consumers in the Ruwais area.
