Sharjah: One man was killed in a hammer fight in Sharjah and two suspects were arrested in the incident, police said.

Sharjah Police arrested two Bangladeshis accused of battering their roommate, also Bangladeshi, to death with a hammer. They allegedly struck him fatally on his head at their accommodation in Al Naba area.

Police received a call from Kuwaiti Hospital saying that a Bangladeshi man, identified as M.H.R., had suffered serious head injuries and was bleeding heavily. He was admitted into intensive care at the hospital.

Officers visited the victim’s residence, where blood stains were found. Police formed a team to investigate the case and track down the suspects. The alleged duo had reportedly fled to Abu Dhabi.

The suspects, identified as M.S.H. and L.M.N, were arrested in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police. They reportedly confessed to the crime, admitting they attacked the victim over a financial row.

The case has been referred to public prosecution for further action.
