Sharjah Police launches 50% fee relief package for businesses

Sharjah : The General Command of Sharjah Police has announced a comprehensive package of financial facilitations and fee reductions aimed at strengthening the emirate’s business environment and supporting commercial and economic establishments.

The initiative, approved by the Sharjah Executive Council, is part of ongoing efforts to enhance economic competitiveness, reduce operational costs, and improve the ease of doing business in the emirate. The measures will remain valid for three months from the date of implementation.

As part of the package, Sharjah Police introduced a series of fee reductions and incentives, including:

• 50 per cent reduction on fees for renewing security permits for commercial activities

• 50 per cent reduction on subscription fees for security systems under Sharjah Police

• 50 per cent reduction on fines and violations recorded against economic establishments

• 20 per cent reduction on mandatory training programmes for companies, including occupational health and safety courses

In addition, the package includes several exemptions and regulatory facilitations designed to ease operational requirements for businesses, particularly in the transport and logistics sector.

These include:

•  Exemption from fees for issuing commercial licence certificates for the transport sector category

• Exemption for vehicles belonging to rental companies, educational institutions, and rented bus operators from vehicle age limits and comprehensive inspection requirements

• Exemption of certain traffic code-related violations for a period of one year, with the option to settle fines in instalments after the exemption

• Waiver of late registration renewal penalties for vehicles, provided the delay does not exceed one year

• Permission for heavy vehicles to operate during project-related restriction periods, subject to prior approval

Sharjah Police said the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting the business community, facilitating economic activity, and reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a competitive investment destination in the region.
