Residents of fire-gutted building given free housing
Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Red Crescent Society has ordered provision of free accommodation and assistance to the people affected by the fire that gutted a residential building in Abu Dhabi's airport street on Tuesday.
Shaikh Hamdan issued directives to provide suitable accommodations to the residents of the building, including over 30 families and a number of bachelors until the building is renovated.
Dr Ali bin Abdullah Al Kaabi, Board chairman of the Red Crescent Association, said the move stemmed from Shaikh Hamdan's keenness to help people affected by crises.
He added that the RCA had begun to provide accommodation and other kinds of care to the residents of the building.
