Residents hail culture and religious tolerance in Dubai
Dubai: As one of the most famous business capitals in the world, Dubai is not only known for its skyscrapers and huge malls, but also for its rich cultural mix.
And just like the city has opened its arms for people from various cultures and religions, residents have also warmed their hearts towards each other.
Gulf News readers firmly believe that this fusion has brought about tolerance, harmony and acceptance
Mary Wairimu, a 25-year-old Kenyan expatriate said: "I think people in Dubai are very tolerant because after living in the region for a while, they pick up the easy-going, welcoming and trusting nature of the Arab people."
Abdul Nasser Al Sha'ali a 20-year-old Emirati student said: "With our daily interaction with different people, it is normal for a sense of tolerance and trust to be built between us and people of other nationalities."
Bridget Selvaraj a 47-year-old Indian expatriate agreed. "People deal with each other on a daily basis and I think they learn to get past their differences and begin to trust one another more."
