Red Crescent distributing Dh7m Eid Zakat for families

Abu Dhabi: The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) is busy distributing Eid Zakat worth Dh7 million to support thousands of families in need across the UAE and abroad.

This amount is likely to increase by next week since donations are ongoing till the Eid day: Dh4 million will benefit 8,474 families with Dh800,000 earmarked for families in Abu Dhabi, Dh284,000 for Bani Yas, Dh600,000 for Al Ain and its surroundings, Dh444,000 for Fujairah, Dh396,000 for Dubai, Dh396,000 for Sharjah, Dh320,000 for Ajman, Dh164,000 for Um Al Quwain and Dh144,000 Gharbia.
 
Another Dh3 million will be earmarked for thousands of families in 60 countries around the globe including Palestine, Somalia, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Bahrain, Oman, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Bosnia, India, China, Italy, United Kingdom and many more.

Zakat money is allotted to families in need of medical, education and social support.
