Prof. Zairi named dean of e-TQMC

Dubai Police's Electronic Total Quality Management College (e-TQMC) has recently appointed Professor Mohammed Zairi, Sabic Professor for Best Practice Management, as virtual dean of the college.

This new appointment comes in line with the strategy of Dubai Police's e-TQM college which is based on recruiting high standard academic professionals within transparent and professional environment using state-of-the-art equipment and technology.

"The college will receive its first batch in September, and we are currently working heavily on promoting its programmes and activities in order to attract participants from all age levels and different nationalities", said Dr Mansoor Al Awar, Director, e-TQM College of Dubai Police.

"The Internet has dramatically played a major role in the way both business and learning experiences are conducted," he noted. "The virtual dean will be based in the UK, but is able to give his directions and instructions as if he exists within the e-TQM's premises."

Prof Zairi joins the e-TQM College with more than 15 years of experience, with his favourite field being quality management and performance measurement. He holds a BSc (Hon) in Polymer Sciences and Technology; an MSc in Safety & Health; a postgraduate diploma in HR and Operations Management; and a PhD in Management of Advanced Manufacturing Technology.

He has written more than 300 papers and 11 books covering different aspects of management, four of them in the area of benchmarking and performance measurement.
