No need to set deadline for peace plan with Israel, says Amr Mousa
Dubai: The two-day Arab Media Forum, featuring some of the most reputed journalists and thinkers, started at Atlantis hotel on Monday.
Amr Mousa, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, addressing the opening session, said he sees a positive outlook in Dubai despite the negative press he has seen.
There is no need to set a deadline for the Arab peace plan with Israel, Amr Mousa told Gulf News, despite condemning Israeli occupation and the Judaisation of Occupied Jerusalem in his speech.
Saudi Arabia has recently said that the plan would not remain on the table for ever. "We need to move forward with the peace offer," he said.
The forum, which is bringing together the biggest names in Arab and international journalism, will be discussing crisis and changing trends in Arab media.
Organisers have said that the event, the first major conference to be held at the Atlantis hotel, is expecting an increase in participants compared to previous years, with a significant number of journalists flying in to attend.
