Media forum begins today to boost Arab-German ties

Dubai: The Arab German Media Dialogue Forum will begin today at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dubai.

The two-day forum, held under the title Culture Transfer and Cultural Globalisation - Local Identity and Global Culture, will be attended by key UAE, Arab and German journalists and writers.

Four topics

The forum aims to boost the cultural and educational cooperation between the Arab world and Germany through the media.

The forum will address four key topics, the first of which is the role of universities, architecture and museums in formulating the strategies of national development in Arab countries.

It will also discuss the importance of cultural policy to the UAE model, citing the Dubai model.

The local and imported culture will be the third topic to be discussed at the forum during which the media role in dealing with issues of Arab culture and cultural policy will also be discussed.
