As banks in the UAE, especially in Dubai, are competing with each other to establish their presence in an extremely competitive market, and meBank has come out with the unique idea of meBox - a bank in a box.

meBox is an even more convenient way of instant banking, providing customers with all their banking needs in a box.

The latest concept to hit the region, in what is now known as 'bank retailing', meBox offers a walk in, walk out, instantly activated bank in a box, to suit every individual's requirements. meBank is merchandising and promoting the best practices of the leading non-financial retailers around the world.

Anis Al Jallaf, managing director and CEO of Emirates Bank Group, said: "meBox was developed in response to customer demands in retail banking, for an even easier and instantaneous form of banking."

He added that meBank had always been one step ahead, pioneering convenience and simplicity within retail banking. "With meBox, we have thought 'outside of the box' to make opening a bank account, the issuance of an ATM card or cheque book for example, instant for the consumer," said Al Jallaf.

meBox provides 24 customer-focused offerings in its product portfolio. An expansion of its existing products - meAccount, meSavings, meCards, meDrive, mePersonal, meFortunes and meNRI - has meant that every customer's requirements are met.

meBox is also offering a World Account, which entitles the customer to four ATM and credit cards (in silver and gold) in four currencies - dirham, U.S. dollar, pound and euro.

"Now, all your banking requirements are available in a convenient retail package, and all you need to enable you to walk out with an instantly activated, ready-to-use account is a passport copy and your original passport or labour card," said Louis A. Scotto, general manager, retail banking at Emirates Bank.

The distribution of the meBox will start in key meBank and EBI outlets and eventually be available at every meBank, Emirates Bank and Middle East Bank branch.
