Man drowns, another rescued in Sharjah

Sharjah: A man in his twenties drowned off Al Heira  Beach in Sharjah on Wednesday, a Sharjah Police official said.

The Jordanian man drowned while his compatriot was rescued and rushed to Al Kuwait Hospital, said the official.

Police was alerted about the emergency situation in the evening . “As soon as we were notified, a rescue team and ambulance rushed to the beach,” the official said.

The Jordanian national was dead when he was pulled out of the sea.

“Beach goers must cross check with the metrological department before venturing into the sea. The sea could be rough and should take precaution," the official said.
