Award is in recognition of fund’s role in spreading awareness on entrepreneurship
Dubai: An American foundation has awarded the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development for its role in spreading awareness and knowledge about entrepreneurship among Emiratis.
Transitions Foundation gave the award to the Khalifa Fund on the sidelines of the World Summit on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Boston, USA. Abdullah Saeed Al Darmaki, the organisation’s CEO, received the award in the presence of more than 600 delegates from different organisations representing 50 countries.
“Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development follows a unique strategy to implement the direction of the government in providing sustainable growth and to support the social welfare which Emiratis should enjoy, and that can be achieved through introducing many initiatives and programmes which are designed to all of society segments,” Al Darmaki said after being awarded.
Over the past five years, Khalifa Fund has highlighted innovation and creativity in entrepreneurship as the key traits that various social groups must possess, especially the youth, for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to succeed.
A number of initiatives and programmes have been designed for school and university students to create an impact on society.
The Khalifa Fund invited UAE students who are studying in the US to attend the summit to enrich their knowledge and learn new trends on SMEs and entrepreneurship.
