To meet heavy demand among passengers, Indian Airlines (IA) will operate 11 additional flights between Sharjah and its 14 Indian destinations between August 16 and September 2, to cater to continued summer demand.
The extra flights are being pressed into service with A-320 aircraft, mainly on the Hyderabad-Sharjah and Kochi-Sharjah sectors, stated K. Shyam Sundar, UAE manager.
"Additional flights from Hyderabad to Sharjah will arrive Sharjah at 2250 hours and depart on the following dates from Sharjah at 0010 hours, on August 17, 21, 24, 28, 29, 30, 31, and September 2, and 7," he explained.
"Additional flights from Kochi to Sharjah will also arrive into Sharjah at 1910 hours on August 26 and September 2, and depart from Sharjah at 2000 hours on the same days."
Sundar said Sharjah International Airport has the maximum number of Indian connections among airports in the Gulf. It has been witnessing a steady increase in passenger movements in the last quarter.
