In 1989, Professor Pon Elango founded Inner Universe, a training organisation based in Singapore, specialising in corporate and personal training programmes. His personality development workshops have helped numerous people in the Far East, the subcontinent and the Gulf, realise their potential and achieve their goals.

His first seminar in Dubai was held in 1993 and ever since Elango has made frequent visits to Dubai to spread his knowledge about mind and body development.

Last Saturday, Elango had a free for all introductory seminar at Ramada Continental Hotel to acquaint people to his concepts and workshop. His theory is that many people use only one side of their brain depending upon the kind of activities they indulge in. "By using both sides of the brain a person can multiply his or her productivity," he says.

Twenty people enrolled for the six-day workshop ending today, which offers a holistic approach to proper living. Elango stresses on the importance of good health. "Unless a person is healthy, he cannot be happy. By taking care of your health you improve your energy levels," he comments.

Elango also gives naturopathic solutions for sleep and digestive disorders during his workshop. The next segment of the workshop focuses on skill development such as communication skills, creative thinking, memory sharpening, goal setting and goal achievement. He plans to have more seminars in Dubai in the future.

Ajit Lamba who attended the workshop for the first time asserted that it is an enlightening as well as entertaining experience. "I have learned lessons that I shall follow all my life," says Lamba. "This was one classroom where no one was bored. Professor Elango is a very interesting and effective instructor."

Those who have attended the workshop earlier have formed an alumni association. "The idea is to practise what we have learned during the workshop," says Abdul Jalal, vice president of the association. During Elango's absence, the alumni continue to meet every second Friday when they do exercises to sharpen their skills.
