Civic authorities shut down two restaurants here for not observing hygiene standards.
The restaurants have not made mandatory health cards for many of their staff, said a senior municipal official.
The move to close the outlets followed repeated complaints from patrons, the official said.
Municipal inspectors raided the two restaurants and discovered that the outlets were not adhering to hygiene standards.
The municipality will soon decide the next course of action.
The civic campaign to ensure high standards are maintained in all food outlets in the emirate has resulted in the closure of many cafeterias recently.
