His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) inaugurated the first Dubai Thrombosis Conference in Dubai last Thursday. The two-day conference that saw regional and global experts in attendance showcased the latest in venous thromboembolism medicine.
“The DHA 2016/2021 strategy includes a clear policy that aims to develop the health sector in Dubai in all its aspects including infrastructure of hospitals, equipment, programmes and smart applications, as well as training, knowledge transfer, skills development and upgrading of medical practices,” Al Qutami said during his speech at the conference.
The MENA Geriatric Summit 2017, was launched on Thursday by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) in partnership with the Swiss Business Council, Dubai & Northern Emirates.
As the region’s healthcare delivery improves, mortality numbers are dropping, with an increasing ageing population to take care of. The conference aims to provide an intensive review of the changes in geriatric medicine by bringing together specialists to exchange ideas.
During his opening speech, His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the DHA, said the two-day summit strives to provide an interactive platform to discuss and highlight numerous health-related issues when it comes to the care and treatment of the elderly.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) hoisted the UAE flag last week, on the occasion of UAE Flag Day. The occasion marks the accession of His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the office of President of the UAE and witnessed a number of cultural shows.
Answering the call of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai for a simultaneous UAE flag raising on November 2, many institutes raised the UAE flag together at 11am to show their appreciation to their homeland.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of the DHA, said: “Flag Day is a special occasion as it offers an opportunity to thank the wise leadership of the UAE.”
