Haq Al Laila celebrations in UAE

The day is marked on 15th of Sha’aban, according to Islamic calender

Dubai: Emirati children across the UAE celebrated the 15th day of the month of Sha’aban, locally known as Haq Al Laila. Where they wear traditional clothes and go around the neighbourhood collecting as many sweets, nuts and treats as possible to fill their tote bags known as Kharyta, which are made from national attire.

This year The Dubai Ladies Club, Dubai Culture and The Sharjah Heritage Museum, hosted activities in Dubai and Sharjah, where the children got to play games, create art and crafts and received sweets and other goodies as part of the celebration.
