UN High Commissioner for Refugees received

Western Region Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), Tuesday received at Qasr Al Sarab Hotel Antonio Guterres, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees who is currently on a visit to the UAE.

They discussed programmes and activities made by the UN to improve situation in poor countries and the support given by the UAE for humanitarian and relief efforts.

Shaikh Hamdan said the UAE was considered one of the major supporters to efforts aimed at improving conditions of refugees worldwide, thanks to the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces .
