President reiterates need for two-state solution during US Secretary of State’s visit

Dubai: The UAE has reiterated its firm stance opposing displacement of Palestinians from their lands. The statement was made by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a meeting with Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State, in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
Sheikh Mohamed and Rubio discussed cooperative relations and joint efforts between the two countries, as well as ways to strengthen them across various fields to serve their mutual interests.
The talks touched on regional and international issues of common concern, including developments in the Middle East — particularly in the occupied Palestinian territories — and efforts to address the crisis in the Gaza Strip and its repercussions on regional peace, stability and security.
The President reaffirmed the UAE’s firm stance against any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land. He emphasised that the reconstruction of Gaza must be part of a path leading to a comprehensive and lasting peace based on the two-state solution as the foundation for regional stability. He also underscored the importance of preventing the expansion of conflict in the region, which poses a threat to regional peace.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser; Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; and Yousuf Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States of America.
