Abu Dhabi: UAE citizens will be able to visit Uruguay without pre-entry visas.

The UAE and Uruguay yesterday (Wednesday) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) allowing holders of diplomatic, private and ordinary passports to visit both countries and stay up to 90 days without pre-visa requirements.

The agreement exempts holders of Emirati and Uruguay passport holders from short-term visas.

The MoU was signed by Ahmad Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Human Rights and International Law, and Ariel Bergamino, deputy Foreign Minister of Uruguay, at the ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Al Jarman and Bergamino discussed avenues of cooperation between both countries and exchanged views about a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Bergamino affirmed his country’s keenness to cement bilateral ties with the UAE, which has achieved a distinguished position on the global arena.
