In recognition of its efforts to protect employees and promote a safe and healthy work environment, Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has been awarded the “2025 International Safety Award” by the British Safety Council.

The award was granted for RAKTA’s Maintenance Workshop, acknowledging its ongoing commitment to implementing the highest standards of occupational health and safety and its efforts to protect its employees from workplace injuries and work-related illnesses throughout 2024.

This prestigious award, now in its 67th edition, is one of the most renowned global honors recognizing organizations that demonstrate excellence in occupational safety practices and mental health support in the workplace. This year’s awards featured participation from 789 organizations across 45 countries, including leading institutions from the construction, manufacturing, energy, and utilities sectors.

RAKTA’s Maintenance Workshop was among 371 entities that earned the “Merit” level recognition—an achievement that reflects RAKTA’s strong commitment to safeguarding its workforce and its continued investment in enhancing workplace conditions through the adoption of best practices.

Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Bloushi, Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority, expressed his pride in the achievement, said “Receiving this award is a testament to RAKTA’s dedicated efforts to foster a safe and sustainable work environment. It reflects our continuous commitment to applying the highest occupational health and safety standards to ensure the wellbeing of our technical and administrative teams and to enhance the quality of our services.”
