Police urge people to check wiring at home

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have called on the public to ensure the safety of cables connected to electrical devices.

The police also urged the public to carry out routine checks on fire extinguishers in their homes and take preventive measures at their homes to avoid incidents that might occur due to short circuit in such electrical devices.

Lieutenant-Colonel Ebrahim Ali Jalal Al Beloushi, director of the Department of Quick Intervention at the Central Operation Section, said fires breaking out in electrical devices are mostly caused by poor connections and lack of awareness about their dangers.
