Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi receives Libyan army chief

Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Saturday received Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army.

Shaikh Mohammad welcomed Haftar and discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in the best interests of the two countries and peoples.

He congratulated him on the liberation of Benghazi from terrorist groups and wished the Libyan people and national armed forces all success in achieving more victories in their fight against terrorism.

Shaikh Mohammad reiterated the UAE’s stand by the Libyan people and supporting their choices and aspirations to have a stable and safe life. He expressed his hope that the Libyans would unify their ranks for their supreme national interests. 

Shaikh Mohammad and Haftar discussed the latest regional and international developments with a focus on the joint efforts and coordination between their countries in collaboration with regional and international parties to fight terrorism. Haftar thanked the UAE for its supportive stand.
