Civil Defence team honoured for saving child from pit

Abu Dhabi: Members of a Civil Defence team from Al Ain were honoured for rescuing an Emirati child who had fallen into a sewage pit.

Colonel Mo’ad Mohammad Al Droubi, director of the Department of Resources and Support Services and acting director-general of Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, honoured First Assistant Khamis Abdullah Al Shamsi and his team who rescued the child from the 20-metre-deep pit. The gesture aims to serve as a motivation for the team as well as other personnel, which would help improve services rendered.
