The two-day event is set to become a key moment for the future of Arabic storytelling
The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, has announced that the Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries will take place on 14 and 15 September 2025. The event will be held under the theme “Arabic Creativity Reimagined: Innovation in Storytelling and Audience Engagement.”
Now returning in a new standalone format, the congress is the first international platform fully dedicated to celebrating the richness and potential of Arabic creativity. It aims to bring together thinkers, creators, and industry leaders to explore new ideas that help grow the Arabic creative sector and boost its global presence.
The two-day event will focus on how modern technology, especially artificial intelligence, can be used to support Arabic storytelling and creative production. Sessions will include practical workshops and training on topics such as digital publishing, scriptwriting, audiobook production, game design, and how to build sustainable business models in today’s digital world.
Dr. Ali Bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, said: “Arabic is a language of imagination and creativity, not just poetry and tradition. Through this congress, we aim to preserve and grow Arabic creativity by embracing innovation and new technologies. Our goal is to open doors for cross-cultural dialogue and investment in the creative industries.”
The congress will welcome a wide range of participants, including writers, filmmakers, tech experts, media professionals, policymakers, and creative entrepreneurs from across the region and beyond. It will feature panel discussions, workshops, networking sessions, and interactive cultural events, encouraging collaboration and global partnerships.
One of the key elements of the congress is its Professional Capacity Building Tracks, run in collaboration with major industry players such as Google, Amazon Web Services, TikTok, Adobe, and Sard Writers’ Room. These sessions will explore digital design, screenwriting, ed-tech, audiobook markets, and AI tools for Arabic content creation.
To support the next generation of talent, the congress will also include the Congress X Youth Programme, a dedicated space for university students. This youth-focused initiative will offer capacity-building workshops, innovation awards, and opportunities for young creatives to present their work and connect with professionals.
The congress is part of a broader effort by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre to position the Arabic language at the heart of cultural innovation. It also reflects Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a global hub for creative industries and cultural exchange.
With a strong mix of practical training, expert insight, and community engagement, the 2025 edition of the Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries is set to become a key moment for the future of Arabic storytelling and creative collaboration.
