Mohammad Bin Ahmad Bin Ya'aroof, Head of the Dibba Al Hosn Sports Club and his daughter Fatima, a Dubai Municipality employee, showed up together to register their candidacy on the last day of registration.
Bin Ya'aroof said he hopes his daughter will win and Fatima said she would be happy to see her father win.
"I was not very enthusiastic to register, but my daughter Fatima encouraged me, therefore I am here today," Bin Ya'aroof said.
He said although the common goal of registering for the FNC elections is serving the country, his daughter and he have different issues to highlight.
"The issues I will discuss are inflation and problems facing the youth," Bin Ya'aroof said. Fatima said the points she will highlight include, youth taking loans, unemployment of graduates and women's issues.
"I suffered from unemployment ... I stayed at home without a job for four years. Therefore, I feel strongly about this issue," she said.
Bin Ya'aroof said he wishes that his daughter and he will be ale to contribute to the country if they win. However, if they did not win, they will be happy to be a part of this process.
