Latest volume of The Book of Knowledge provides information critical to Siemens E-Quiz 2004
The Siemens Mobile E-Quiz 2004, organised by Dubaiquiz.com was kicked off recently with the launch of The Book of Knowledge, Volume 3.

The book contains interesting information for all those who wish to participate in the E-Quiz 2004.

Priced at Dh10, the book is being distributed through schools in the UAE and is available at outlets of Farook Stationery and Pic and Save as well as at Century Mall, Al Safeer Centre and Discount Centre.

Young quizzers can register at Dubaiquiz.com for the online quiz to be held between January 3 and 24 by using the unique registration number (urn) in their copy of the book.

Different sections

The over 400 questions in the book are divided into categories of 'sports and games', 'toons and tunes', 'home and school', 'people and places' and 'pics and flicks'.

"This book will help those entering the online competition because 60 per cent of the questions in the online quiz will be based on information provided here," said Wiz Abbas, who has compiled the interesting facts.

This third volume of the Book of Knowledge has found favour with quizzers of all ages. "My parents and I found the book informative and entertaining. I like the format and presentation of the book and would recommend it to all quizzers," said Gokul Madhavan, winner of the E-Quiz 2003 in the senior's category.

Children who buy the book will be entitled to free rides at Jungle Bungle in Century Mall and Adventurland, Sahara Centre.

The book also provides many attractive offers like free gifts from Swatch and discount vouchers from other sponsors of the E-Quiz 2004. A link to a special Siemens segment offers the chance to win a top of the line Siemens M55 mobile phone.

For juniors and seniors
The online quiz scheduled for January 3 is divided into two sections - 'juniors' ranging from eight to 13 years and 'seniors' aged 14 to 18 years. Participants will find a new set of randomly generated questions, on a variety of subjects, every day.

They will be timed by Swatch, the official time keeper for the event, and the time taken to answer the questions will be taken into consideration in the event of a tie. Daily, weekly and monthly prizes are offered to winners.

By the month end, the best eight scores obtained by every quizzer will be added to select 100 semi-finalists each from the junior and senior categories.

Grand finale
Siddharth Basu, host of BBC television's Mastermind quiz programme, will conduct the grand finale of the Siemens Mobile E-Quiz 2004, to be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dubai on January 29.

The three winners in each category will receive trophies for their schools and will be awarded medals and certificates. They will also take home a host of attractive prizes.

"With the support of schools, families and sponsors, our E-Quiz has become the biggest online quiz challenge in the UAE," said Jamshed Mehdi, CEO of Dubaiquiz.com.
