Dubai: Emaar has put up tents in New Dubai areas offering free iftars to hundreds of workers and residents across various communities.

The tents – with a seating capacity for around 300 people - have been set up next to mosques in Downtown Dubai, The Greens, Arabian Ranches, Emirates Living and Dubai Marina offering free iftars everyday for everyone.

“I am so grateful to Emaar for putting this tent. We work full day in the area and I practically don’t have the energy to go far to break my fast. My friends and I eat here everyday,” said Mohammed Zakir, a gardener in Springs 7 next to the Springs Village.

Another resident of Springs - Bashar Hassan, whose family is currently on vacation said he eats at the tent everyday. “You cannot get a better sense of community feel than this. Both workers and residents sit together and eat at the tent here. It’s a great feeling. The initiative by Emaar to put up the tent close to community mosques is a great gesture,” he said.

Keeping up with the spirit of Ramadan, Emaar also urged its residents to make charitable contributions and donate clothes at all mosques in the area.

A flyer to this effect has been distributed to residents in Emaar developed New Dubai areas by Emaar Community Management.
