Sharjah Police have arrested five men on charges of theft.
Major Abdullah Ali Saho, head of the Criminal Investigation Section, said there are 37 cases against the men, allegedly would break into shops and steal money, prepaid telephone cards and cigarettes among other items.
He said: "Thefts had suddenly risen. A supermarket in Al Nahda area reported a case. The front glass had been smashed and there were marks of blood. Money had been stolen."
On searching a suspect's house in Al Khan, a box containing devices used to unlock doors was found. A second suspect was also found in the home.
Both suspects admitted their crime and a number of items were recovered from the five men, who said they spent the money in nightclubs.
