Fire breaks out in two Al Quoz warehouses

Dubai: Firefighters battled a huge fire that broke out in two fabric warehouses in the Al Quoz area, Dubai Civil Defense said on Tuesday.

A spokesperson of Dubai Civil Defense said that they were alerted about the fire at 5:15pm and that firefighters reached the scene within four minutes.

"It is a big fire in two warehouses containing cloth, fabric and furniture," said Lieutenant Colonel Jamal Ahmad from Dubai Civil Defense. 

Firefighters from Al Quoz, Al Barsha and Emirati volunteers responded to the alert.

No one was reported injured in the blaze, Lt Col Jamal Ahmad said, adding that firefighters controlled the fire at 5:40pm.

Shaikh Mansoor Bin Mohammad Al Maktoum (pictured below) was at the scene with firefighters to follow up cooling operations.
