Eight schoolchildren injured as buses collide

Abu Dhabi: A school bus carrying 25 pupils, including children in kindergarten collided with two other buses yesterday morning injuring eight of them.

Ahmad Al Zaidi, head of the serious accidents investigation division of Abu Dhabi Police, Traffic and Patrol Department, attributed the accident to a driver losing control.

"According to the preliminary investigations, the bus causing the accident swerved unexpectedly to the middle lane and hit the second bus which was forced out of lane to hit the third bus," Al Zaidi said.

The accident occurred on Al Sa'ada Street in Abu Dhabi.
