Driver rescued from horrific Ajman smash-up

Dubai: A truck driver narrowly survived a major traffic accident after his vehicle overturned, leaving him trapped inside.

Civil Defence were able to rescue an Asian motorist on Wednesday night following an accident with a cement mixer in the Al Helou area of ​​Ajman.

In cooperation with Ajman Police, a team from Ajman Civil Defence used special plyers and a crane to rescue the trapped driver.

Maj. Marwan Yousef Al Shamsi, the Administration Officer in Ajman Civil Defense, said that the accident happened after the motorist was speeding and his vehicle carrying the cement mixer overturned and crashed.

Emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident and transferred the motorist to hospital, who had sustained moderate injuries. 

Maj. Al Shamsi appealed to motorists to adhere to the speed limit and cautioned drivers to slow down near exits and intersections.
